Expert Patient Programme

Our next course  starts on  8th February 2012 and runs for 6 weeks from 1030am  1pm.  venue Brierley Hill Health and Social Care Centre 

Feedback from the previous courses has been very good with people saying how much they have benefited from it.

New Exercise Group - The Dell Stadium

We are planning to start a new weekly exercise group  in the Spring based at the Dell Stadium, particpants will be able to use the outdoor gym equipment, with exercise being tailored to your individual needs.

Rotary Stroke Awareness Day  Friday 20 April  2012

we will once again be taking part in this event, venue to be decided in Dudley when5 Free blood pressure checks, , blood glucose tests will be offered., together with advice about healthy lifestyle and reducing your risk.

Fishing/Angllng Group

Had a stroke, used to enjoy fishing, would like to have return to your sport.  then please contact us, we are looking at the possibility of setting up a group of like minded people who wish to fish local pools, venues to be sorted etc, dependant on peoples needs and how much suppport they may need.

6 and 12 month stroke reviews

All people should receive a review 6 and 12 months after their discharge from hospital following their stroke

Dudley Stroke Association has been commissioned by Dudley PCT to carry these out on their behalf as a pilot for 12 months funded by the Black Country Cardiovascular Network.

This started in Julyof this year and we will be contacting people to arrange to go out and visit them, as their review date come up.

Coffee morning - these are held every two weeks for people who have suffered a stroke and/or carers. They meet at a local pub, some stay on for lunch. the groups is run by the people attending with our support.

-  promote the FAST message on sports kits.

Family & Carers Support Group / Exercise and fun based activities

2nd Wednesday of each month 11am - 2pm

4th Thursday of each month 11.30am - 3pm

Held at the Dudley Sports and Social Club, Hillcrest Ave Brierley Hill.

These groups provide exercise, support, advice and the chance to meet others in a similar situation.  Once therapy stops, continuing to progress doesn't have to, you can build up your skills by coming along and joining in our exercise groups.

Costs are £2 for the hours exercise and £2.50 for a sandwich lunch plus teas/coffee
